>Stretch your backing fabric over the frame as tight as possible.

>Mark your design on the backing fabric. We use a sharpie marker. Your rug is padded on the back of the rug so your design does not show through.

>Label the areas of the design with the appropriate thread colors. It helps when you choke.

>Tuft your carpet!

>Apply adhesive and back fabric, if desired. Backing fabric is not necessary unless you want to see the back of the rug. In many cases, you may never see this. For example, the inside of a cushion or a bag. A liner will cover this.

>Let it dry and finish your project.

Be careful when adjusting the cut hair machine. Improper machine settings will prevent the scissors from working. If the stack height is set too high, the scissors cannot work properly. Follow the online video guide for the correct settings. Never loosen or adjust the bolt below. This will prevent the scissors from working.

It is important to maintain the correct direction when using the tufting gun. Incorrect direction will cause tufting failure. Note the direction the foot is pointing. Machine maintenance is easy: 1. Add a drop of sewing machine oil to each linear bearing every week to keep the machine running smoothly. See picture below. 2. The clipping machine should have a drop of oil added to the scissor joint every month.

Before pressing the start switch, be sure to turn on the power switch first.

When threading the gun, always turn it off. It's best to unplug the machine so you don't accidentally turn it on. Never touch the moving parts of the machine when it is running.
